Change#3 - ECO

Another little change in my life is to go green - eco. Many people living in New York are very into saving environment. Maybe I don't have huge impact on saving the planet, but every small step counts. The biggest one I made was to switch from car to bicycle. It wasn't easy let me tell you, I got so used to being able to drive around any time I wanted that this decission was harder on me then I thought it would. But biking for several months now I must say I don't miss my car. NYC has very convenient public transportation and my bike is folding. I even take it with me to hang out with my friends in the city, I just fold it very small and keep it next to me in the bar :)))) Well, once I was told that I have my personal Transformer, I liked that :))
What about that lace on your feet? you'd ask. You see, on the island I was not wearing shoes, not even for biking. But as you know by now, shoes are my most important accessory ever (I have like a 100 of them) so to still have my feet dressed up I made those sandals. I must say it was unbelievable feeling how little piece of lace can substitute for stiletto :)

Nastepna zmiana w moim zyciu to ECO - ekologia.

Change#2 - Color

There was a time that I was in love with black thread. I thought it was very elegant and classy, so most of my tatting was in black. It took life-changing events to realize that the color was a reflection of my soul. The month I spent on Fire Island had a huge impact on my personality. Since I didn't have access to Michaels or other craft stores I was force to use what was around. Turquoise seamed to be my favorite and most of my creations were in this color. I made bunch of jewelry using tatting and macrame including beads and twine. One of my favorites was this tribal looking necklace, where tatting was the main focus but macrame made it feel tropical. I did wear it very often with other pieces that I will show you later :)

Byl okres w moim zyciu gdy moim ulubionym kordonkiem byl czarny. Wydawal mi sie taki bardzo klasyczny i elegancki. Potrzebowalam ekstremalnych wydarzen w moim zyciu zeby zdac sobie sprawe, ze kolor byl odzwierciedleniem mojej duszy. Misiac na wyspie mial ogromny wplyw na moja osobowosc. Poniewaz nie mialam tu dostepu do zadnych pasmanterii zmuszona bylam uzywac co bylo dostepne. Turkusowy kordonek najbardziej przypadl mi do gustu i wiekszosc moich kreacji bylo stworzonych w tym kolorze. Zrobilam troche bizuterii laczac frywolitke i makrame razem z drewnianymi koralikami. Nosilam go dosc czesto razem z innymi rzeczami, ktore tez wam wkrotce pokarze :)
